Sudardshan Kala Kendra is a coconut shell handicraft centre located on the scenic island of Diwar in Tisawdi, Goa. Coconut tree is referred to as Kalpavruksha in Indian Society. Each part of this tree is useful in some form or the other. Several new dimensions are added to the use of this special plant by the varying utility products made and sold at Sudarshan Kala Kendra. The range of items made at the centre vary from pen stands to soap cases and showpieces to earrings all made from coconut and driftwood. The raw material used for the beautiful artifacts prepared at the centre are naturally available, durable and biodegradable. |
