Panaji, March 9 - Goa is all set to revive the memories of first chief minister
late Dayanand alias Bhausaheb Bandodkar`s regime with the celebration of Bandodkar`s
birth centenary year which commences from March 11, 2010. Colleagues of Bhau who
are still alive will be felicitated at the inaugural function of birth centenary
year on March 11 at Hanuman theatre Mapusa. Noted writer Madhu Manguesh Karnik
will be the chief guest for this function. Karnik was a personal secretary of
Bandodkar when later was the chief Minister of the state.
President of Bandodkar birth centenary committee Mr. Ramakant Khalap made this
announcement today in Panaji in a press conference.
Ex MLA Vijay Kamulkar, Jaysingh venkatrao Rane, Gajanan Raikar, Gopalrao Mayekar,
K.B.Naik, Jaysingrao A. Rane, Achyut Usgaonkar, Pratapsing Rane, Shashikala Kakodkar,
Punaji Achrekar, Dr. Luis Prot Barbosa, Chandrakant Chodankar, Eduardo Faleiro,
Vasant Joshi, Dulo Kuttikar, Baban Naik, Rohidas Naik, Anil prabhudesai, Tiotino
pereira, j.B. Rao and Nio velho will be honoured to acknowledge their contribution
along with Bhau, said Khalap.
All of them have shaped Goa, he mentioned.
