The Goa Energy Development Agency ( GEDA ) has organised a workshop on Renewable energy options for hotels, hospitals, and Technical institutions on February 5, 2010 at NIO, Dona Paula.
The workshop will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Shri Digambar Kamat at 10.00 a.m.
Technical sessions will be held through out the day besides presentation by Infosys, Bangalore an energy efficiency measures and solar water heating system in hotel and institutions, ITC welcome Group, Thermax, Pune, Tata BP Solar, Bangalore, wipro Bangalore, Mailhem, Pune. Besides various manufacturer will also give their presentations.
Renewable and Alternate energy options and energy use efficiency techniques need to be used which can not only bring about savings but also lead to the substitution of fossil fuels resulting in a cleaner environment.
Presently, a number of Renewable Energy Technologies have matured and hence can find ready and cost effective applications in “ Hotels / Resorts”, Hospitals and large Technical Institutions. These include Solar Thermal, Solar Photovotaic and Bio – gas Generation technologies that can cater to energy requirements for cooking, cooling air heating, water heating, drying, steam production and electricity generation. Similarly, a significant number of energy efficient “ devices / measures” are now available such as CFLs, LEDs, Electronic Chokes, “ Light / Heat” Sensors, Efficient “ Stoves / Pumps/ Compressors / Chulhas” which result in energy savings to the extent of 20% to 25%. Further, solar passive architecture and techniques to reduce indoor temperature, to increase indoor natural lighting to increase natural ventilation etc, are gaining in popularity with a vast potential for reducing energy consumption in buildings.
To discuss various renewable and energy efficiency options in details and to focus on the financial incentives available for the purpose from the Government, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy ( Government of India ), in association with Government of Goa has organised this workshop cum Seminar for the benefit of Owners and Managers of said facilities located in Goa.
Registration will be done from 9.00 a.m onwards on February 5, 2010 at the venue.
